The Correlation Between Content Schemata and Reading Comprehension on Expository Text of The Second Year Students at MAN 2 Jombang

چکیده

The English language has four skills that must be mastered. In this case, reading is one of them whether the learner can understand symbol printed words or not. On other hand, if they have a good ability in reading, will better chance to succeed their study. This research quantitative, it focused on product (the result test) not process teaching-learning, and objective find out correlation between students' schemata comprehension. Pearson Correlation because kind data ordinal interval. total sample 83 students, significance level 5% 0,05 r table for students 0.213. It higher than table. So, compared rxy rtable 0.244 > concluded Ha (Alternative hypothesis) accepted H0 rejected, so Positive correlation. teacher should open class by pre-reading activities reinforce critical thinking develop comprehension several types text, especially narrative text.
